A dreary Sunday afternoon in West Footscrazy, with tightly packed rows of quaint dilapidated and antiquated terrace homes, one after the other. Amongst the super chillaxed vibe of Barkly Street, lies this little treasure, Post Industrial Design, with a juicy congregation of peeps waiting to have a peeksie at the goodies in store (did I mention an opening time of 12pm-ish...pro lazy Sunday...LOVE).
The Gallery is home to the current State of Design Festival's SLAMin exhibition, taking homage to the skater boys and betties, through skater inspired paintings (most by Sarah Watt), light installations (Jos Van Hulsen - who is also one of the creative owners of the rad shack), coat racks (also by Jos and unbelievably amazing!) and various other mediums.
There are also 50 million cute nik naks that are perfect as gifts or to jazz up your own home, as well as hand crafted and designed tables, bedding and lights all by Jos, which are all spectacularly made with TLC. We can't forget to mention Jos' partner in crime, Mary, who hunts down adorable hand crafted jewellery, creams, cushions and soaps that mix like pen and paper with the recycled and pre loved aesthetic that runs throughout the store and gallery.
Make sure you check out Post Industrial Design gallery and store! Most of the art pieces are also still available SO GET ON IT x
