GOT YA RAGS
Some grabs from Rag and Bone SS12 New York show. Loving the collection hyper bikinis, mixed fabrics and the standard new york coolness in a Rag and Bone twist. A snap of their inspiration board is dropped below and you can definitely see the surf vibes reflected in this collection. Rag and Bone never a let down. Again Thom Yorke put together the backing track for the show.

SPRING BITCHES (PART II)
the avant garde of melbourne all came to their mecca for the week...as it was the senso uniquo friday show.
the playsuits came out, along with summery trenches for the guys, socks in oxfords, bright colours made another appearance and flowing silhouettes (which i hacked on about wednesday night) finally came out to show me up!
every showcase had something that everyone would fall in love with, whether it be a linen picnic shirt, gold jacket, or an orange trench!
TOP 2
1. Limedrop
2. Kuwaii
again, we are all about a line that stays true to itself and is inspired by something new every season and is able to tweak its aesthetic with that burst of inspiration. Kuwaii fiddled with super kuwaii playsuits (excuse the pun...but it was needed!), chiffon and soft palettes. they just knew how a girl would be feeling in scorching 38 degree melbourne weather. Limedrop blew us away with a tweaking of a maxi skirt, still respecting those girls that don't want to hide their god blessed pegs, gold and black for the lads and a cute colour palette for the lasses.
BOTTOM 2
1. Carly Hunter
2. S!X
we must admit that choosing a bottom 2 was virtually impossible, however, we've chosen on the basis of wear-ability and prospects. unfortunately carly let us down...by making us forget about her show! and although being inspired by a new form of drapery, S!X failed to please with their awkward looking dresses, that were poorly constructed and couldn't even compliment a models' body.

SPRING BITCHES
so melbourne spring fashion week has come and gone...it goes way to fast if you ask me! white mess got ourselves to a couple of shows, wednesday night's boutique and friday nights' senso uniquo freako.
we had mixed love when it came to what night was our fave...messer 1 liked wednesday (i think he was swayed by the beats) while messer 2 was digging friday's show.
wednesday was covered in structure and colour for the girlies...which i thought needed to be toned down after a good year of angrogony! dresses, shirts, skirts...you name it...were square, solid and didn't quite reflect a melbourne spring/summer. it would have been nice to see some fresher fabrics, with more movement on the body and sweeter silhouettes.
so the results.......
TOP 2
1. Dhini
2. Alice Euphemia
just loved the current aesthetic that ran through Dhini and Alice Euphemia. They know what they want and have the quality to match. Great colour concepts, shapes, prints and most importantly, respected what THEY ACTUALLY LIKE....and respect for a bambi suit
BOTTOM 2
1. Kings of Carnaby
2. Megan Park
a part from the threads that were still hanging from the sweat shop crafted gear, Kings of Carnaby officially need to work on their silhouettes and cuts if they want to keep up in the fashion game....otherwise their buyers will just end up going to "smiley happy fits" on level 2 of southland to get some good quality stuff.
Megan Park on the other hand...wait...who?! i think she was meant to be in the target show but got lost.

MARC 4 DIOR
So the rumor mill has been running hot lately with news that Marc Jacobs will take the role of head designer at Dior. Mark has been the top dog at Louis Vuitton for yonkers now and with Dior in desperate need of a new Chief the fashion worlds have put 2 and 2 together. Dior has been scouting ever since this guy…
checked himself out in a French bar with an anti Semitic rant to a couple patrons (who took pity on the homeless man and posted the video all over the web).
>> - - - SPACE INVADERS - - -
If you haven’t already worked it out, white mess are huge fans of street art so were pretty pumped about this one. Showing from 2nd of September until the 5th of November at RMIT gallery, Space invaders showcases the National Gallery of Australia’s collection of iconic street art. The show takes 10 years worth of Australian work, 150 pieces by 40 artists and packs it into one space so you can melt your face off. Check out a couple of grabs below, and be sure to head into RMIT to check the total gig.
